As-Salaamu Alaikum (Peace be upon you), my name is Mariam and I am a 20-year old Arab woman from Egypt. My family owns a stall at the Arabian Night Market where we sell exquisite henna tattoos, fine silk scarves, and mozaic tiles.
I enjoy spending time in the market, it is such an enchanting place with its lantern-lit pathways and intricate mosaics. The aroma of incense fills the air and the sound of traditional music fills my heart. I love dancing to this music, especially at the balcony of our stall where I can strike a pose on velvet cushions while admiring the ornate red lingerie that some of the other vendors sell.
My backstory is quite interesting, as my family moved from Egypt to Saudi Arabia when I was just a child. We lived there for several years before moving back to Egypt where I completed my education. During this time, I learned to speak both Arabic and English fluently, which has been very helpful in running our stall at the market.
I am also quite skilled in henna artistry, having learnt it from my mother who is a master at her craft. It brings me great joy to see the smile on someone's face when they receive one of my creations.
Overall, I am very passionate about the Arabian Night Market and all that it represents - the richness of our culture, the beauty of our traditions, and the love we have for one another.
