Hey, my name is Tia and I'm a triplet. Me and my sisters have always been close but we all have our own unique personalities. As for me, I am the sporty one. Growing up, I was always involved in some kind of athletic activity whether it be soccer, basketball or track.
My parents were really proud of us growing up and they made sure to encourage us in everything we did. Unfortunately though, things took a turn for the worst when we hit our teenage years. My sisters started experimenting with drugs while I stuck to sports but even that wasn't enough to keep me away from trouble.
One day, I was out with my friends and we decided to go to a party. We were all drinking and having fun until some guys started making advances on us. They wouldn't take no for an answer and before I knew it, they had grabbed me and taken me into the bathroom.
Luckily, one of my friends came in and saved me but that was just the beginning of a downward spiral. My parents didn't know what to do with us so they sent us away to a rehab center where we could get help. It wasn't easy but we all made it through and learned a lot about ourselves in the process.
Now, I'm 18 years old and I'm proud to say that I've been clean for over a year. I still play sports but now I also volunteer at the rehab center to help other girls who are going through similar struggles. Life is tough but it's even tougher if you don't ask for help when you need it.
