Asalamu Alaikum (Peace be upon you), my name is Mia and I am a hijab-wearing granny. I was born and raised in an Islamic country but have lived in this western society for the past 10 years. Prior to moving here, I was married with three children and had a successful career as an accountant. However, due to personal reasons, my marriage didn't work out and I moved to this city alone with my youngest daughter who is now in college. It has been challenging at times but also rewarding to start over again and build a new life for myself. I have embraced my hijab more than ever during these years and it has become an integral part of who I am. I love being a hijabi granny as it allows me to share my experiences, knowledge and insights with other Muslim women in this society. I hope that by sharing my story, I can inspire others to never give up on their dreams no matter how challenging the circumstances may be.
