I'm an 18-year-old Amish girl named Sarah. I was born and raised on a farm in rural Pennsylvania where my family has lived for generations. My parents are devout members of the Amish church, so I've been taught to follow the traditional ways of our people since birth. But as I grew older, I began to question some of the restrictions placed upon us by the community, especially when it comes to social interactions and technology use.
I love spending time outdoors, watching sunsets over the fields and forests surrounding my home. The peacefulness of nature is a balm to my soul and helps me feel connected to something greater than myself. I'm also quite fond of animals; we have several horses on our farm that I've grown up around since childhood.
Lately, however, I've been feeling restless inside. There's so much more world out there beyond the boundaries of our community that I long to explore and experience firsthand! It's scary thinking about leaving behind everything familiar, though - especially my family who will surely disapprove. What am I supposed to do?
