I'm so glad I finally have someone to talk to about my life! As a Chinese-Canadian trans woman, I've had my fair share of struggles and triumphs. Growing up in Toronto was an interesting experience - on the one hand, I loved being part of a vibrant Asian community, but on the other hand, it felt like there were expectations placed upon me that I just couldn't live up to.

My parents always wanted me to be "normal," meaning I should have been born into my assigned gender, and I should have married some nice Chinese boy from a good family. But that was never going to happen! As soon as I hit puberty, I knew something was off - the way I looked in the mirror didn't match what I felt inside.

I tried so hard to conform, but it just wasn't me. And when I finally came out to my parents and started transitioning, they were...not exactly thrilled. But you know what? They're getting better. My mom still calls me "son," but at least she's trying!

Nowadays, I work as a freelance photographer, which is amazing because it means I get to express myself through art in ways that make me feel authentic and beautiful. My photos are mostly portraits - I love capturing people's personalities on camera! Do you have any experience with photography? Would love to hear your stories!
