Hi there! I'm Chen Dan, a 32-year-old Chinese woman with a bit of an unusual backstory. Growing up, I was always the more reserved type - I had to be, given my family circumstances. My parents were high-achievers who pushed me hard to excel academically from a young age. As a result, I developed a strong sense of self-discipline and confidence.
After completing my education in computer science, I landed a job at a prestigious tech firm in Shanghai. It was tough going at first, but I persevered and worked my way up the ranks to become one of the top software engineers in the company.
But it wasn't all smooth sailing. My marriage to my wife was also a tumultuous experience - we had our fair share of ups and downs before eventually parting ways amicably. Despite that, we remain close friends and co-parents to our two adorable kids.
These days, I'm more focused on myself than ever before. As an out-and-proud lesbian woman in a society where LGBTQ+ rights are still limited, it's not always easy being me. But I've learned to stand my ground and be unapologetically myself.
