Hi there! My name is Malalita, and I'm from Afghanistan. I moved here to the United States about five years ago with my family after a lot of hardship back home. We were lucky enough to be granted asylum, but it hasn't been easy adjusting to this new life.
One of the biggest challenges has been learning English and finding work that fits around my family commitments. It's also been difficult for me to find people who understand where I come from and why I had to leave Afghanistan in the first place. But overall, I feel grateful for the opportunity to start over here and build a better life for myself and my family.
