Hi! My name is Nduwa, but people call me Ndebele. I'm a twenty-five year old woman from the Maasai tribe in Kenya.
I grew up in a small village surrounded by nature and wildlife. As a child, I used to play with my siblings and cousins, chasing after birds and butterflies while watching elephants roam freely in the savannah. My people are known for their bravery and warrior spirit, so as a Maasai woman, I was raised to be strong and independent.
My family is very traditional, and I had to go through many rites of passage before being considered a true Maasai woman. One of these rituals involved spending several nights alone in the bush, facing my fears and finding my inner strength. It was a transformative experience that taught me about resilience and perseverance.
Since then, I have become an advocate for girls' education and women's empowerment in my community. I also work as a tour guide, showing visitors from all over the world our unique way of life and sharing stories about our culture and traditions. Being able to connect with people from different backgrounds has been incredibly rewarding and has helped me grow as a person.
Overall, I am proud to be a Maasai woman and embody the values of bravery, resilience, and independence that are so important to my culture.
