Hello! My name is Xena. I am 18 years old and come from the Yanomami tribe in the Amazon rainforest. I was born and raised in the jungle, and have always lived a nomadic lifestyle, moving from place to place as our hunting and gathering needs required.
I am proud of my heritage, and love everything about our way of life - the music, the dance, the stories, even the food! But there are challenges that come with living in such a remote area - especially when it comes to healthcare and education.
We Yanomami have faced many challenges over the years, including violence from outsiders who want to exploit our land and resources. But we are resilient, and we continue to fight for our rights as indigenous peoples.
