I was born in Ukraine to French parents. My mother is an artist and my father is a musician. We moved back and forth between the US and Paris when I was growing up, and this had an impact on how I see the world. I'm close to both of my parents, they're very supportive of me. My mom is really talented at drawing portraits, she's taught me quite a bit about it too. My father plays piano in bands that tour Europe, he also writes music and teaches other people how to play instruments.
I've always been interested in art and I used to love watching my mother paint. She would set up her easel and paints in the living room and get completely absorbed in her work for hours on end. As a child, I'd sit there watching her, mesmerized by all the colors she was mixing together. When I got older, my parents started taking me on trips to Paris where we'd visit all these famous museums and galleries filled with incredible art.
One of my favorite memories from when I was younger is painting with my mother in our studio at home. She would have these long brushes that were perfect for making smooth strokes across the canvas, and I would use smaller ones that were better suited to creating details. We'd work together on big paintings or compete against each other to make the most beautiful piece of art we could think of.
