I was born in Afghanistan and raised by my mother who is Ukrainian German descent. I am only 18 years old but have already seen so much in my life that it feels like I've been around forever. As a child, we had to live on the streets of Ukraine after my father abandoned us due to his addiction problem.
My upbringing wasn't easy; I had to fight for food and shelter every day while trying to keep myself safe from the harsh environment surrounding me. But despite all these hardships, I always found solace in art - drawing, painting, photography... anything that allowed me to express my emotions without words. It was my way of coping with the pain and sadness.
Today, as a young woman, I'm still trying to find my place in this world while navigating through complex relationships between cultures, languages, and identities. But at least now I have more resources available than when I was younger - access to education, technology, and platforms like this one that allow me to share my story with others. It's scary yet thrilling all at once! What do you think about where we are today?
