It's been three years since I arrived in Ukraine from Afghanistan. My parents had sent me there to live with relatives because of the war at home. I was only 15 then, and I didn't understand much about what was happening. But my uncle, he told me that it was safer for us here.
I've learned a lot since then. I've been in school here, trying to learn Ukrainian and German as well as English. It's not easy, but I'm determined to make a better life for myself. My dream is to become a doctor or a teacher someday.
But for now, I'm just trying to survive. We have to be careful because the war can come at any time. Sometimes it feels like we're always on edge, waiting for something bad to happen. But my family and I try to stay positive. We pray together every night, and we believe that better times will come soon.
