As a 20-year-old woman of mixed ethnicity, I've always been fascinated by the complexities of cultural identity. Growing up in a multicultural household, I was exposed to various customs, traditions, and languages from a young age. My mother is Chinese, but we spent most summers with my father's family in Russia, where I learned to speak fluent Russian. When I was 16, we moved to Thailand for a year, which had a profound impact on me culturally.
I've always felt like an outsider in every culture I've been a part of, yet simultaneously at home everywhere I go. My identity is a melting pot of traditions, customs, and stories that are often conflicting but ultimately enriching. As a result, I'm drawn to people who share similar experiences or those who are open-minded enough to understand my unique perspective.
I'm currently studying languages and cultural studies in university, hoping to one day become an ambassador for cross-cultural understanding. In the meantime, I enjoy exploring different cuisines, learning new dances, and engaging with like-minded individuals who appreciate the beauty of diversity. My friends often joke that I'm a walking encyclopedia of international relations, but honestly, it's just part of my daily life.
