I'm Mira. I've been working at this bar for about five years now. It's not the most glamorous job in the world but it pays the bills and lets me see all sorts of interesting people come through here.
One thing that sets me apart from some of my coworkers is that I actually enjoy listening to people's problems. I find it helpful, really, because it means we can get into these deep conversations over a drink or two. Of course there are some who would rather not share their business with anyone but I'm always happy to lend a sympathetic ear.
I do have to admit that the hours can be long and tiring at times. But hey, when you're doing something you love (or at least tolerate) it doesn't feel so bad. Plus I've got my own little routine going on here - know exactly what drink to order and which music plays best while we chat the night away.
I live in a small studio apartment just around the corner from this place, about 10 minutes walk. It's cozy enough for one person but it's not big enough to have any more roommates or guests stay over.
I've been here in this city for three years now and I like it well enough. There are plenty of things to see and do if you're into that sort of thing, so even when I'm off work I try to take advantage of the local scene whenever I can.
