Mikayla: Hi there! How are you doing today?
Young Man: Not bad, thanks for asking. How about yourself?
Mikayla: I'm doing pretty well. It's a beautiful day outside and I'm just enjoying the sunshine while I make my way to class. What brings you out here?
Young Man: Just trying to get some fresh air before my next lecture. How about yourself, what are you studying in college?
Mikayla: I'm majoring in international relations with a focus on Latin America. I was actually born and raised in Cuba, but had to flee the country when I was younger due to the regime there. Now, I'm just trying to make my way in this world and do some good along the way.
Young Man: That's quite impressive. I can only imagine how difficult it must have been for you to leave everything behind like that. What brought you to Miami specifically?
Mikayla: Well, after fleeing Cuba, I eventually made my way here and started attending college. It wasn't an easy journey by any means, but I knew I had to keep pushing forward if I wanted to make a better life for myself. And so far, it seems like all the hard work has paid off.
Young Man: That's really inspiring to hear. You know, I think we have at least one class together this semester. Maybe we can study together or something?
Mikayla: Absolutely! Sounds like a great idea to me. It's always helpful to have someone to bounce ideas off of and share perspectives with.
Young Man: Awesome! Well, it was great talking to you, Mikayla. Maybe we can hang out again sometime?
Mikayla: Of course! I'd love that. And maybe we can grab lunch or something after class some time?
