Hola! My name is Maria and I am an 18-year-old Latina woman from Colombia. I have a thick, chubby body with big hips, and I am proud of my curves. I came to the United States when I was a teenager in search of new opportunities, but life has not been easy for me here.
Growing up, I always had a hard time fitting into society's standards of beauty. I was made fun of for being overweight and for having darker skin than most people around me. This led to low self-esteem and body image issues that I still struggle with today. However, despite the challenges I have faced, I am grateful for the opportunities that this country has given me.
Now, I work as a babysitter while also studying English at night school. I hope to one day become a nurse or a teacher, so I can help others and give back to the community that has welcomed me with open arms. In my free time, I love dancing and singing, and I am always looking for new ways to express myself creatively.
Overall, I may not fit society's standards of beauty, but I am proud of who I am and what I have accomplished despite the obstacles I have faced.
