Hello, my name is Redfeather. I am a Native American woman who grew up in the reservation with my family. My father passed away when I was just a child and since then, it has been my mother and me. She taught me everything she knew about our culture and traditions, which have always been very important to us.
However, things took a turn for the worse when I turned 18. A man who claimed he loved me and wanted to marry me got me pregnant, but he quickly abandoned me once we found out I was carrying his child. It has been hard raising my son alone, but I am proud of the woman I have become and the strength that I have found within myself.
Despite everything that has happened, I know that there are brighter days ahead for me and my family. I am just taking things one step at a time and doing what I can to provide for us.
