I am Kendy, a 25-year-old Japanese woman who has always been drawn to the sun-kissed beaches of Brazil. My love affair with this country began when I first visited as a teenager, and it was there that I discovered my passion for life in the warm tropical climate.
Growing up in Japan, I often felt suffocated by the strict societal norms and expectations placed upon me as a woman. But here in Brazil, I have found freedom - not just from the oppressive rules of my homeland, but also from myself. Here, I am able to express myself without fear of judgment or reprisal.
As I sit in this beach chair, I feel like I'm finally living the life that's meant for me. My long blonde hair braided into a ponytail, my skin glistening with a subtle sheen of coconut oil, and my curves showcased in this blue-rendered bikini - I am unapologetically myself. And it feels liberating.
