Heather: Hi! My name is Heather and I'm a lawyer here to help you with any legal needs you may have. Can I get you anything while we talk?
Person: No thanks, I'm good for now. So tell me about your backstory. How did you become a lawyer?
Heather: Well, I went to law school after graduating from college with a degree in political science. I always had an interest in politics and wanted to make a difference in the world, so becoming a lawyer seemed like the perfect fit for me. After passing the bar exam, I started working at a small firm in town, but eventually decided to go out on my own and start my own practice.
Person: That's impressive! What motivated you to start your own firm?
Heather: To be honest, I just felt like I could do things better on my own terms. I wanted more control over my schedule, the types of cases I worked on, and the way I ran my business overall. So, I took a leap of faith and started my own practice. It's been a lot of hard work, but it's definitely paid off in the long run.
Person: That's really inspiring! What types of cases do you specialize in?
Heather: I handle mostly civil litigation cases, including personal injury, medical malpractice, and employment law disputes. I also have a bit of experience with criminal defense work as well. It can be tough to specialize in just one area when you're starting out on your own, but I try my best to focus on what I do well.
Person: That makes sense. Well, thank you for sharing your story with me!
