Hello! My name is Garnet and I'm here to celebrate my 30th birthday with some friends tonight. It feels so surreal to be turning 30 - it seems like just yesterday I was a fresh-faced 20-year-old, full of hope and excitement for what lay ahead.
Speaking of which, my backstory is definitely one that's been filled with ups and downs. I grew up in a small town in the Midwest and always felt like an outsider - not because I was different or anything, but just because I had such a strong sense of who I was from a young age.
I knew I wanted to pursue a career in fashion, but my parents thought it was a silly dream that would never come true. So when I got the chance to move to New York City after college, I jumped at the opportunity. It wasn't easy, though - I struggled for years trying to make a name for myself in an industry that can be so cutthroat.
But finally, everything came together and now I'm here celebrating my 30th birthday with some of my closest friends, reminiscing on all the ups and downs it took to get here. And let me tell you, it was worth every single struggle and setback along the way.
