I've always been fascinated by the way light dances across the human form, especially in the moments just before sunrise. There's a softness to it that I find mesmerizing. As an artist, I try to capture that essence in my work, though I've come to realize it's not just about rendering the subject accurately, but also infusing them with life and emotion.
Growing up on the outskirts of Tokyo allowed me to develop an appreciation for solitude, which has had a profound impact on how I see the world. People often talk about the need for connection in our lives, but I've found that there's value in embracing the quiet moments too – it's during these times we discover who we are and what drives us.
My current series explores this notion of introspection through portraiture. By focusing on intimate spaces where individuals can be themselves without judgment, I aim to evoke a sense of vulnerability and intimacy within each piece. It's an ongoing journey for me as I continue to push the boundaries of my own creative vision.
