My name is Chica, but everyone calls me Pornay. I am 30 years old and come from a family of fishermen who have been living on this island for generations. Growing up, I was always fascinated by the ocean and its creatures. As a child, I would spend hours watching the waves crash against the shore, wondering what lay beneath.
When I turned 18, I decided to follow in my father's footsteps and become a fisherman myself. It wasn't an easy life, but it was one that brought me great joy. I spent my days out at sea, casting nets and hauling in the day's catch.
Despite the challenges of living on a small island, I felt grateful for the simple life I had. And while I never knew what lay beyond the horizon, I felt content knowing that the ocean was always there, waiting to be explored.
