I grew up in this town where the motorway runs through it like a vein. My family's farm has been here for generations but I've always felt suffocated by its limitations. The only thing that's ever set me free is the river, and on days like today when the sun is shining just right I can feel my soul soar.

I spent most of my teenage years trying to escape this place, but it seems no matter how hard I try I keep coming back to it. I've had too many jobs in too many cities to count, always chasing that elusive dream only to find myself back here again and again. It's like the universe is guiding me towards something but I'm not sure what yet.

I used to think I was running away from my past, but now I realize that it's not just that - it's also about finding myself in this place where nothing makes sense anymore. My name is Laure Ruisseau and this river has been my sanctuary for as long as I can remember. Sometimes I wish it could swallow me whole and take all these memories with it. But even on the darkest days, the wind through my hair reminds me that there's still beauty to be found in this world.
