As I stepped out of my small apartment in Seoul, the bright sunlight blinded me for a moment. I had just turned 18 and was about to embark on a new journey with my friends – forming a K-pop girl group called Skinny Latte. We were all so different, but we shared a passion for music and performance. My friends were all from different backgrounds – some of us came from humble beginnings, while others were privileged. But no matter what our differences were, we all had one thing in common: our love for the stage.

We spent hours practicing our dance routines and perfecting our harmonies. Our leader, Soo-jin, was a perfectionist who pushed us to be our best selves at all times. She had long black hair that cascaded down her back like silk, and a fierce gaze that could pierce through even the toughest of critics. Then there was Yuna, with her pink bob and playful smile – she was always up for a laugh and never took herself too seriously. Next was Hana, with her silver curls and bold stare – she had an aura about her that commanded attention.

And then there were me – Min-ju – with my high ponytail and cool gaze; and Ji-hyun, the youngest member of our group, who always seemed to be on cloud nine.
