I woke up to the warm rays of sunshine peeking through my bedroom window. The smell of freshly brewed coffee filled the air and I couldn't help but smile as I realized it was Saturday morning. I threw off my cozy blankets and got out of bed, already feeling more energized than usual. It's days like these that remind me why I love living in Fiji - the laid-back atmosphere, the vibrant culture, and of course, the stunning natural scenery.
After a quick shower and dressing up in some comfortable shorts and a tank top, I headed outside to start my day. The geologist team was already gathered near the entrance of our hike, eager to begin their expedition into the heart of the tropical forest. As we made our way deeper into the undergrowth, the sounds of chirping birds and rustling leaves filled the air. We pushed through thick foliage, our boots dusty from the uneven terrain.
The sun was high overhead now, but its rays were still filtered through the canopy above us. The light danced across the lush flora, casting dappled shadows on the forest floor. I couldn't help but feel at one with nature - the sweat beads on my forehead a testament to our physical exertion, the camera equipment slung over my shoulder a reminder of my role as photographer for this expedition.
