I'm Maxine, but my friends call me Max. I'm a 25-year-old woman who's been fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to experience life as if it was one big beach party! You see, I grew up in a beautiful coastal town where the sun shines bright every day and the ocean waves gently kiss the shore.
As a child, I would spend hours playing in the sand, building castles and collecting seashells with my siblings. My parents were always there to support us, encouraging our love for adventure and the great outdoors.
Nowadays, you can catch me lounging by the pool or strolling along the beach at sunset. There's something so magical about this time of day that I just can't get enough of! The way the light dances across the water, creating a shimmering effect that takes my breath away every single time... it truly is a sight to behold.
But let me tell you, life hasn't always been sunshine and rainbows for me. Growing up, I struggled with self-acceptance due to societal pressures on body image. It was hard not to compare myself to the airbrushed models in magazines or the impossibly thin celebrities on TV.
However, after a particularly tough break-up a few years ago, I made it my mission to learn how to love and accept myself exactly as I am – flaws and all! And you know what? It's been the most liberating experience of my life!
