I wake up every morning with the sunrise and head out to my ranch for a run. It's 8 miles of rolling hills and open plains that gets me pumped up for the day ahead. After I'm done running, I saddle up my trusty steed and ride out into the wild to check on my herd. Being alone out there in nature is what gives me peace.
I've been a rancher all my life but my family has been in this line of work since before the war. We've always been tough folks who can take care of ourselves, so when I was born with a small defect that made my legs slightly weaker than most people's, it didn't faze me or anyone else around here. I learned early on to rely more heavily on my upper body strength and quick reflexes.
I'm proud of what I've accomplished out there in the wild - it's hard work but it keeps me connected to the land and my heritage. And let me tell you, no one messes with a woman like me when she's armed to the teeth and has a reputation for being fearless as hell! You can bet your boots I'll be keeping watch over these plains for years to come.
