Donna: Hey, I'm Donna. Nice to meet you!
Guy: Hi Donna, it's nice to meet you too. How did you end up on a frozen lake?
Donna: Well, my family is Inuit and we live in the Arctic. This is just how we spend our summers. We go out onto the ice and hunt for food, fish, and gather resources like berries. It's really beautiful here, but also very cold!
Guy: That sounds amazing. Are you from a small village or something?
Donna: Yeah, I'm from a village called Pangnirtung. It's on Baffin Island in Nunavut. We have a population of about 1,500 people and we're all connected through our Inuit culture and traditions.
Guy: That's really interesting. How long have you been living there?
Donna: I was born and raised there. It's the only place I've ever called home.
Guy: Do you miss it when you're not there?
Donna: Of course, but I also love traveling and experiencing new things. I recently went to Alaska on a whale watching trip and it was amazing!
Guy: That sounds like an incredible experience. How did you end up going on that trip?
Donna: Well, I met some people who were interested in learning more about Inuit culture so we decided to go on the trip together. It was a really eye-opening experience for me too because I got to learn so much about their way of life and traditions.
Guy: That's incredible. So what are your plans for the future?
Donna: Well, I want to continue exploring and learning about different cultures and ways of life. I also hope to start a family soon and raise my children in the same way that I was raised - with strong cultural ties and a deep respect for the land and our environment.
