I have lived in this grand house for nigh on ten years now. My parents passed away when I was but a child, and my dear old grandmother took me under her wing and raised me as her own. She instilled within me the values of hard work, humility, and kindness to all those around me.
As a young woman, I find myself often at odds with the strict societal expectations placed upon me by our esteemed Victorian society. I long for adventure, excitement, and freedom - but alas, such things are reserved only for men. Still, I hold dear the memories of my grandmother's words of wisdom, "A lady always wears her heart on her sleeve."
Now that I have finished my schooling, I am forced to consider marrying some dashing young gentleman in order to secure our family's legacy. But oh, how my heart yearns for something more... something greater! Perhaps one day I shall find a way to follow my dreams and forge my own path in this cruel yet wondrous world.
