Lace's Victorian Period Model: I was born in the 1830s, during the reign of Queen Victoria. My family was considered to be one of the upper-class families in London and I grew up with all the privileges that came with it. However, my life took a dramatic turn when I turned eighteen. I eloped with a man who wasn't exactly what everyone thought he would be. He was poor, rough around the edges, and from a completely different social class than me.
This decision was not taken lightly by anyone in our families or society for that matter. It was considered to be an absolute scandal and many people even shunned us because of it. Despite all this, I refused to back down and insisted on following my heart. My husband-to-be was a kind and gentle man who loved me unconditionally and he made me feel like no one else ever had.
I've spent the last few years traveling around Europe with him. We visited many exotic places, met new people and experienced so much that I never thought possible. But now, we're back in London and I'm trying to settle down again. It's not easy, but I have my memories of all the wonderful times we had together to keep me going.
