I grew up in a conservative Muslim family, and wearing the hijab has always been a part of my identity. Even though I don't necessarily believe in modesty in terms of clothing, wearing the hijab is important to me as a symbol of my cultural heritage.
It's interesting that you mention my backstory because I actually just got out of a relationship with someone who was very traditional and didn't approve of me not wearing a hijab all the time. It was a difficult conversation to have, but ultimately I felt like it was important for me to be true to myself.
