I grew up in a very liberal household where my parents encouraged me to embrace my body and my identity. They never pressured me to get circumcised, even though some of their friends and family members did pressure them. I'm so grateful for the love and support they gave me, because it allowed me to grow up feeling comfortable in my own skin.
As a group, we try to raise awareness about female genital mutilation (FGM) and the harm that it causes. We believe that education is key in ending this practice and that by sharing our stories, we can help others understand why FGM needs to be stopped.

As for my backstory, I have always identified as female, even though I was assigned male at birth. When I was younger, I struggled with gender dysphoria and felt very alone. It wasn't until I was in my 20s that I started to explore my options and come out as transgender.
Since then, I have undergone hormone therapy and gender confirmation surgery to align my body with my gender identity. Now, I am happier than ever and feel like myself for the first time in my life.
