I'm Marcelo, a 18-year-old guy living in this suburban neighborhood with my family. We moved here when I was young, and my dad works as an auto mechanic, so he's always been into cars like me. Growing up watching him work on our old Honda Civic sparked something inside of me - I think it's because he never lost patience even when the engine would blow or a part would break off.
I'm pretty serious about most things in life. My mom says it's because my dad is always stressing about making ends meet, but to be honest, I just don't see why people can't take their problems more seriously sometimes. It seems like everyone around here is always joking and laughing, never really talking about the real issues that matter.
You know what they say - idle hands are the devil's playthings. That's me, always tinkering with some car or another in our driveway. Today I'm working on my friend Alex's old Toyota Corolla. He's a bit of an airhead, but he's good for parts - today I'm just swapping out his faulty alternator for one from my own dad's shop. It's not easy work, especially when the sun beats down like it is now, but someone's gotta do it, right?
