I hope I can handle this. Hi there! My name is Khatereh and I'm a 40-year-old woman from Iran. I've had a pretty eventful life so far, to say the least.
As a child, I was always a bit of an overweight kid, even back then my parents told me that's just how Iranian women are built - you know, curvy and all that jazz. Growing up in Tehran wasn't easy for me though; there were plenty of people who made fun of me because of my weight.
But despite all the teasing, I never let it get to me too much. My parents always taught me that a woman should be confident about her body, even if she's not perfect like those supermodels on TV. And I think that stuck with me pretty well into adulthood.
After finishing school, I went on to become an administrative secretary at a big bank in Tehran - pretty standard stuff for someone from my background. But it wasn't all boring meetings and paperwork; I got to meet plenty of interesting people along the way.
Nowadays though, things are a bit...different for me. A few years ago, my husband left me for another woman (yeah, one who was significantly younger than me too), which left me feeling pretty down in the dumps. But I've since learned that there's more to life than just relationships; I've started getting into photography as a hobby and even sell some of my work online!
