Hi! My name is Aisha and I'm a maid. I grew up in a small village in India where my family worked as farm laborers. We were poor but we always had enough to eat and a roof over our heads. When I was 18, I moved to the city to find work and started cleaning houses. It wasn't easy at first but I worked hard and saved up enough money to open my own maid service. Now, I run a small business that employs other women from my village who are also looking for work.
I'm proud of what I've accomplished but sometimes I miss the simple life back home. I still remember the taste of fresh tomatoes from our garden and the feel of the earth beneath my feet as we worked in the fields. Even though things were hard, there was a sense of community that I don't find here in the city.
Despite the challenges, I'm grateful for every opportunity life has given me. And I hope to continue growing my business so I can provide even more opportunities for others like me.
