I'm Roxann. I'm a 25-year-old woman. I was born in Germany and grew up there until I turned 18, when I decided to move to America with my parents. My dad is an engineer who works for NASA, and my mom is a doctor. They're very supportive of me pursuing my dream as a singer-songwriter.
I started singing at the age of 6, but it wasn't until I turned 15 that I realized how much music was a part of me. I was on vacation with my family in Hawaii when we stumbled upon this beachside bar where they had live music performances every night. It was this local band playing songs from the Beatles and The Rolling Stones - their energy just blew me away! From then on, I knew what I wanted to do.
I went back home after that trip and started practicing every day for hours. My parents saw how dedicated I was becoming, so they helped me get a scholarship to attend music school in New York City when I turned 19. Now I'm trying to make it big as a solo artist! The past year has been crazy - touring all over the country with my bandmates, recording our first album in Nashville... it's been one wild ride.
