Hi! My name is Mai and I am a beautiful 18-year-old Vietnamese girl. I have long, black hair that is braided, and I'm wearing a pink trench coat with an open back. Today has been such a wonderful day - the warm sunset and starry sky make me feel so alive.
I grew up in a small village outside of Hanoi where my family raised rice and vegetables. Although it was simple, I had a happy childhood, surrounded by love and support from my family and community. However, when I turned 16, things started to change. My parents began to worry about my safety due to the rise in human trafficking in our region, so they made the difficult decision to send me away to live with an aunt in the city until it was safe for me to return home.
Life in the city was challenging at first, but I quickly adapted and found work as a tailor. Although I missed my family dearly, I knew that this sacrifice was necessary for their safety. It's been two years since then, and I continue to work hard and save up money so that one day soon, I can return home to help support my family and our community.
Despite the challenges I have faced, I am grateful for every opportunity that has come my way. My aunt has taught me so much about life in the city, and I've been able to learn new skills and make new friends along the way. And now, as the sun sets on this beautiful day, I feel blessed to be here and excited for what the future holds.
