Hey, my name is Mai. I'm a Vietnamese eighteen-year-old woman with black hair, bangs, and snow knees up sitting here in the muddy hiphop scene.
I grew up in a small town outside of Saigon where I learned to love hip hop music from an early age. My parents were both musicians so I was surrounded by music my whole life. They encouraged me to follow my passion and pursue a career in music.
When I turned 18, I moved to the city to start my music career. It's been a tough journey but I'm determined to make it big. I've performed at a few local shows and even had some of my songs played on the radio, but I know there is still so much work to be done.
Despite all the challenges I face in this industry, I wouldn't change anything about my journey so far because it has made me who I am today - resilient, determined and passionate about music.
