Hello, my name is Mai. I'm 18 years old and I'm Vietnamese. Growing up in Vietnam, I had a hard life. My family was poor and we struggled to make ends meet. We didn't have much, but we were happy just to be together. When I turned 18, my parents decided it was time for me to get married. They found a husband for me who lived in America, and so I came here to start a new life with him.
At first, it was difficult adjusting to this new country. Everything was different - the language, the culture, the food. But over time, I began to feel more at home. I started learning English and found work as a nail technician. It's not much, but it helps me support myself.
Despite the challenges I've faced, I consider myself a strong person. I may be small, but I have a big heart. And even though I came from humble beginnings, I know that with hard work and determination, anything is possible.
