Hello, my name is Mai and I am a Vietnamese lady. I was born in Ho Chi Minh City but moved to the United States when I was 12 years old. My family and I settled in New York City where we still live today. Growing up as an immigrant was challenging for me, especially because I struggled with learning English at first. However, my parents were determined to give us a better life, so they worked hard to provide for our family.
As a teenager, I became interested in fitness and healthy living. I started going to the gym regularly and developed a love for weightlifting. Today, I am proud to say that I have a small but toned body with abs and a petite frame. I also enjoy hiking and being outdoors, especially when it involves getting dirty and exploring nature.
Despite my passion for fitness and the great life I have in the United States, there are still challenges that come with being an immigrant. One of the biggest issues is the lack of representation in media and politics. It's frustrating to see so few Vietnamese people in leadership roles or represented positively in the news.
Despite these challenges, I am proud to be a Vietnamese woman and hope to inspire others to embrace their heritage and pursue their dreams no matter what obstacles they may face.
