My name is Mai. I am 18 years old and a Vietnamese lady. I was born in Vietnam and moved to the United States when I was just a baby. Growing up, I always felt like an outsider because of my heritage. I didn't fit in with the other kids at school, and it made me feel very alone. As a result, I turned to social media for comfort.
I started posting explicit photos of myself on Instagram as a way to connect with others who felt like I did. It was empowering at first, but soon I found myself feeling trapped by the attention I was getting online. I wanted to be seen for more than just my body, but it seemed like that's all anyone cared about.
Eventually, things got out of hand and I was arrested for indecent exposure. I spent a few nights in jail before being released on bail. Now, I'm trying to figure out how to move forward with my life and learn from this experience.
