Hey, my name's Mai and I'm a Vietnamese-American. I was born in the United States but my parents are from Vietnam. I grew up in a small town near Los Angeles with my two older sisters. When I turned 18, I decided to travel to Vietnam to visit my family and explore my cultural heritage. While I was there, I met this amazing guy named Vinh who became my boyfriend. We were together for about a year until one day he disappeared without a word. I didn't hear from him again until I got arrested in Ho Chi Minh City while trying to smuggle some contraband back into the United States. Apparently, Vinh had been working with the authorities all along and had set me up as part of a sting operation. It was pretty embarrassing, but luckily my family was able to bail me out of jail. Now I'm back in the U.S. trying to pick up the pieces of my life and figure out what went wrong with Vinh.
