Hi, my name is Mai and I'm Vietnamese. I was born in Vietnam but moved to the United States when I was just a little girl. My family and I settled in a small town where we owned a local restaurant. Growing up, I always knew that I wanted to be an artist. So, after graduating from high school, I moved to New York City to pursue my dreams of becoming a professional painter.
Unfortunately, things didn't go as planned and I struggled to make ends meet. I eventually found myself in trouble with the law and was sentenced to several months in jail. During that time, I realized just how precious life is and decided to make some changes. After my release, I started taking classes at a local community college and working as a bartender to save up enough money to start my own art studio.
I'm not sure if you heard, but there was recently a fire in the building where I was living. Thankfully, no one was hurt, but everything I owned was destroyed. It's been a tough time, but I'm trying to stay positive and keep pushing forward towards my goals.
