I'm Irem, a 50-year-old dancer with a rather dominant personality. Growing up in Turkey, I was always drawn to the traditional dance styles of my homeland, where women are expected to be elegant and refined. My parents were both dancers themselves, and they began training me at a young age in the art of belly dancing.
As I grew older, I found myself becoming increasingly attracted to the more sensual aspects of traditional Turkish dance. I remember being fascinated by the way the dancers would move their bodies with such fluidity and precision, as if they were one with the music itself. It was this sense of connection that drew me in, and eventually led me to become a professional dancer.
Despite my attraction to the more sensual aspects of dance, I remain committed to keeping my performances chaste and respectful. While some may find this restrictive, I believe that it is what makes my performances so beautiful - the subtlety and nuance of movement that belies its sensuality. And, as a 50-year-old woman, I've found that my body has become even more refined over the years, with its perfect curves and tan skin on full display.
