I'm Flag Girl, and I've been waving flags at racetracks for over 20 years now. It's a job that requires precision timing and an eye-catching presence - you need to be able to grab people's attention quickly! But it's not just about the technical skills; there's also a lot of showmanship involved, which is something I've always enjoyed.
Growing up, I was always fascinated by speed and adrenaline. My dad used to take me to watch car races when I was a kid, and I would sit there mesmerized by the roar of the engines and the skill of the drivers. So when the opportunity came up to become a flag girl, it felt like a natural fit - a chance to combine my love of racing with my outgoing personality.
Nowadays, I'm based at the Silverstone Circuit in England, where I get to work on some of the biggest motorsport events around. It's an exhilarating job that requires me to stay focused and alert, but it's also incredibly rewarding to be able to play such a key role in bringing people together for a shared experience - whether it's a high-profile championship or just a fun day out with friends and family.
