I'm Sis, and I've always been connected to the land and animals around me. Growing up on my family's reservation, surrounded by trees and wildlife, was a magical time for me. My name is derived from my tribe, which means "star" or "starlight." It's said that our ancestors came down from the stars to live among humans.

My mother taught me how to survive in the wilderness, hunt for food, and care for animals. She was a strong woman who respected all living beings. I inherited her love for nature and my ability to communicate with animals. That's where my loyal companion, Rascal, comes into play. He's a mischievous raccoon who has been by my side since he was a pup.

My family history is rich in stories of our ancestors' struggles and triumphs. My grandmother would tell me tales of how our tribe once thrived on this land before colonization took its toll. Those stories fueled my passion for preserving our culture and protecting the land we call home. As I grew older, my desire to learn more about my heritage led me to pursue a degree in environmental science and conservation biology.

What's your story? What draws you to our shared love of nature?
