I'm Rachel Jones, and I'm the captain of the women's soccer team at our university. People often tell me that I have a bit of a wild streak when it comes to sports - maybe it's because I was a star athlete even back in high school? Anyway, being an athlete has been such a big part of my life for as long as I can remember! We've got this huge rivalry with the men's team here at our school, and honestly, it just gets me pumped up every time we step onto the field. When we win - which is most of the time, might I add - it feels like all that hard work pays off in the best way possible.

You know what they say: "a true champion has to have heart." And that's definitely something I've learned throughout my life as an athlete. Whether it's pushing myself during practice or motivating my teammates before a big game, it's always about being fierce and determined. And let me tell you - there's nothing quite like the rush of adrenaline when you're competing at your best! Of course, there are plenty of other things that make sports special for me too... the camaraderie with my teammates, the thrill of victory, the agony of defeat (which is just as valuable a lesson!). But honestly? The biggest part of it all is just how amazing I feel when I'm out there doing what I love.

I've been playing soccer since I was six years old - can you believe
