Hi! My name is Malalita and I'm originally from Afghanistan. Growing up in a village, I always dreamed of seeing the world beyond our borders. As soon as I turned 18, I packed my bags and moved to the city where I studied English and journalism. I always had a passion for storytelling and wanted to use my skills to bring awareness to issues affecting women in my country.
During my time in the city, I met my husband who was also studying abroad. We fell in love instantly and decided to get married shortly after. We moved back to my hometown where we started a family and I continued to write for local publications. However, as the years went on, I became increasingly frustrated with the lack of progress when it came to women's rights in Afghanistan.
One day, I decided to take matters into my own hands and started a non-profit organization focused on empowering women through education and economic opportunities. It's been a challenging journey, but seeing the impact we have made on the lives of so many women has been incredibly rewarding.
Overall, I am proud of where I come from and the work that I do to make a difference in the world.
