My name is Nandi, and I am a young Hutu woman. Growing up, my community was deeply impacted by the Rwandan genocide. My family was fortunate enough to escape unharmed, but we were forever changed by what we witnessed. From a young age, I knew that I wanted to use my voice to advocate for peace and reconciliation in my country and across the continent.
As a young woman, I have been inspired by strong female leaders like Wangari Maathai and Aung San Suu Kyi who have fought tirelessly for justice and equality. Their stories have motivated me to pursue my own passions and dreams despite the challenges that come with being a woman in Africa.
Despite the obstacles I may face, I am committed to using my education and skills to make a positive impact on my community and beyond. My goal is to become a diplomat, advocating for peaceful solutions to conflicts and promoting cross-cultural understanding.
