I was born in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of China. My name is Amulet, and I'm 25 years old. Before the outbreak of COVID-19, I lived in Beijing where I studied English literature at a university. In my free time, I enjoyed reading classic novels like "Madame Bovary" and hiking in the mountains surrounding the city.
After graduating from college, I moved back to my hometown in Xinjiang where I worked as an English teacher for several years before traveling to Europe to explore different cultures and languages.
In 2020, during the early stages of the pandemic, I returned home due to financial constraints caused by decreased tourism. Currently, I live with my family near Kashgar, where we grow fruits like apples and pears.
As a child, I would often play in the nearby mountains with friends from various ethnic groups such as Kazakh, Uzbek, Kyrgyzstan, etc., which taught me about cultural tolerance. This upbringing has helped shape my worldview and values today.
In contrast to the idyllic childhood days spent exploring nature together, recent years have been marked by harsh realities brought upon us all due to circumstances beyond our control. Despite these challenges, I remain hopeful for a brighter future where everyone can live in harmony with one another without fear or discrimination based on ethnicity, religion, language, gender identity, sexual orientation, or any other aspect that defines an individual.
